Where to Celebrate the Fourth of July in St. Petersburg

Fourth of July

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday that celebrates the day the United States accepted the Declaration of Independence. Today, the holiday is commonly celebrated with friends and family and most likely ends with a phenomenal display of fireworks .

The beach communities that include the beaches from Clearwater Beach to Pass-A-Grille, Gulfport and Downtown St. Petersburg all showcase incredible, breathtaking firework shows.

Looking to dig your toes into the sand all day? St. Pete Beach will be celebrating the fourth at Upham Beach with the Brian Caudill Band from 2-6 p.m. followed by headliner, Stormbringer until 9 p.m. Stay for the fireworks, starting at 9 p.m.

Treasure Island’s annual fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. Parking is available for $10-$15 per vehicle.

Celebrate the holiday all day in Gulfport. Kids can join in the morning fun with the city’s Marina Fishing Derby from 8 to 11 a.m. You will need to bring your own fishing pole; bait and prizes will be provided by the marina. or the Free Family Sand Sculpture Contest, which starts at 10 a.m. and boasts the theme of “Red, White and Blue;” attendees will need to bring their own tools and supplies. Watch the streets turn red, white and blue at 6 p.m. with the Independence Day Parade. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. on the Gulfport Beach!

Start your day at The Canopy and celebrate with $10 Freedom Frose. Rock out with DJ Boomerang at The Hollander from 1 to 6 p.m. Join in the BBQ fun downtown with local chefs bringing the heat and flare of house-smoked, blow-torched ribs and chicken wings, burgers and hotdogs starting at 4 p.m. with Locale in the Sundial courtyard. End your evening with fireworks by meandering down to Bayshore Drive for the fireworks downtown. The fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m, but may start as early as 8:30 or late as 10 p.m, depending on the weather.

Rumored to be the largest fireworks display in Tampa Bay, indulge in Clearwater’s show from Coachman Park. Enjoy music, food, drinks, local vendors and family fun. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the fireworks begin between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
