Broadwater is located on the eastern end of the Pinellas Bayway, adjacent to Maximo Marina and immediately north of the I-275 ramp towards St. Pete Beach. Broadwater was built in the mid-1950s when US 19 (34th Street South) was extended to connect St. Petersburg with the new Skyway Bridge. The community is built around broad, deep-water canals with access to Boca Ciega Bay. The community of approximately 575 mostly one-story single family homes with over 50% situated on waterfront lots. The homes in the neighborhood continue to appreciate and the Civic Association as put into place a community plan for continued improvement.
A natural treasure and fitness feature found near Broadwater is The Clam Bayou Bridge and Trail which begins off 37th Street South at 34th Ave South. Bikers and runners alike have trained on this 1.6 mile trail with 64 acres of coastal habitats allowing for quiet and solitude. Located in southwest St. Pete on the eastern shores of Boca Ciega Bay, Broadwater is near all the popular sites. It has easy access to I-275 which allows you to be at the beaches or downtown within 15 minutes.
